In this episode, Jeff Spencer talks about the time he had major conflict on a job that required change orders because a sewer manhole that the project required tying into was far too close to a foundational wall. Following the original plans could have been disastrous or far more expensive. Jeff recognized the need for change when we saw the jobsite with his own eyes and had to explain to the engineers why their plan would not work.
Jeff recommends that all estimators, project managers and engineers have multiple years of hands-on experience in the field.
